Valparaiso

Viaje a Palparaiso (West Coast of Chile)

Went to the coastal city of Valparaiso to see my friend Franco (acquaintance from Buenos Aires who married a Chilena). The city is very much like an old San Francisco, located on the coast of Chile. It has a large arcing bay surrounded by steep hills.

Seafood, trolleys, hill trams (box cars which travel up and down the hill side...not many left as they age out) and covered in murals.

Day Two: blisters on foots...Santiago, Chile

Lots of walking again...my feet hurt...photos of big flag, bright sun, strong drink ("el Terremoto, ie: Earthquake---made of pisco, lime, fernet and lime/cream(?)), colorful houses, murals, work by Brigada Ramona Parra/BRP and the Museo de Memoria: dedicated to memory and the atrocities of the Pinochet regime in Chile (as well as military dictatorships and the Truth and Reconciliation congresses around the world struggling to bring to light the injustices committed/ing).
